Eagles welcomed local rivals Istead Utd to Higham Rec in near perfect conditions for a mid week league match. The usual close game followed with Istead having the best of the early possession and chances. Istead took the lead with a short range effort after a deflected shot.  Eagles then found their stride and Fin perfect corner was met by Kingie's well timed run and his excellent header hit the upright. Shortly after, Keats superb 20 yard strike rebounded off the bar. Istead led 1-0 at HT.

As usual, Eagles were stronger in the second half, but failed to capitalise on their possession. Jonesaange came close with a weaving run and shot.  Istead were still dangerous on the break and David pulled off an excellent save at full stretch. With seconds remaining and it lookling like beihng one of those days for the home side, Con latched onto a loose ball and running away from goal was pushed by the Istead keeper and a penalty was awarded. High pressure for Mclucas who took it all in his stride and converted the kick to make it 1-1.

MOTM was close. Kingie was really solid at the back, but just pipping him was David for his excellent saves and safe handling.
